On April 1-8, 2023, Dr. Songheang Ai, director of SEAMEO TED led a delegation to visit some partners as colleges, institutes and universities located in Nanning and Guilin for enhanced cooperation and partnership in terms of technical and vocational education for the benefits of China and ASEAN people. During a visit, Dr. Ai had a courtesy call to Dr. Wu, Deputy Director General of Education Department of Guangxi Zhuang to realize the cooperation after signing MoU and MoA between both parties. The discussion focuses on the establishment of SEA TVET-based program attached with SEAMEO TED. To assist the program, two Chinese TVET experts will work in cooperation with SEAMEO TED. They will come and work at SEAMEO TED in September 2023 for one year.

During the visit, Dr. Ai has visited Guilin University of Electronic Technology (GUET) led by Ms Hui Nie, deputy secretary of party committee and vice president of the university. The discussion has a consensus on 1)China-ASEAN Summer Camp Program for 30 technical students from SEAMEO country members to China from July to August during 14 days, 2)China-ASEAN workshop for 10 school principals to China, and 3) TVET training program for students from the SEAMEO country members on technical aspects and Chinese language to China. Regarding three proposals, GUET will cover all expenses in China, except airfares.

The delegation has visited Guangxi Vocational and Technical College (GVTC) to realize cooperation between both parties for teacher, student and management exchange programs and capacity building programs.
