SEAMEO TED and the National Joint Conference of Vocational & Technical College and
University Presidents (China) Officially Launch a Collaborative Project

To further promote in-depth cooperation between Southeast Asian countries and China in the field of vocational education, and to support the development of vocational education systems and talent cultivation across the region, in May 2025, SEAMEO TED and the National Joint Conference of Vocational & Technical College and University Presidents (hereafter referred to as “ the National Joint Conference”) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding and jointly launched collaborative projects to enhance regional cooperation in vocational and technical education.
This project aims to build a new regional vocational education cooperation mechanism involving governments, institutions, and enterprises, leveraging the achievements of China’s vocational and technical education development. As one of the key guiding institutions, SEAMEO TED plays a vital role in the following core areas:
- Development and promotion of curriculum resources and standards
- Expert tank and certification of qualified teachers
- Textbooks publishing
- Various technical skills training programs and workshops
- Multi-level cultural exchange programs between China and other countries
As early as April 2025, SEAMEO TED and the National Joint Conference held an online preparatory meeting to define the cooperation direction and implementation plan. The official launch of the project marks a significant step forward in the partnership and provides strong momentum for strengthening vocational and technical education systems in Southeast Asia.
Looking ahead, SEAMEO TED will continue to uphold its mission of “regional collaboration for shared development,” deepening cooperation with China and educational institutions across Southeast Asia to build a high-quality regional framework driven by future-ready, industry-aligned, and technology-powered vocational education.
