Since its establishment in October 2020, SEA Vocational- Technical High School network has 71 participating vocational-technical high schools which cover 6,104 teachers and 102,116 students from totally at least nine SEAMEO Member countries including Brunei Darussalam (2 schools), Cambodia (12 schools), Indonesia (19 schools), Malaysia (8 schools), Myanmar (5 schools), Laos (2 schools), the Philippines (16 schools), Singapore (1 school), Thailand (5 schools) and Timor Leste (1 school). The participating schools mostly technical and vocational education and training programs at the secondary level in the areas of Mechanics/Electronics and Manufacturing, Agriculture/Fisheries/Animal Science, Computer Science/Informatics, Hospitality and Tourism and Automobiles.
SEAMEO TED with the collaboration of network members organized its first SEA Vocational-Technical High School Webinar on 03 March 2021. The Webinar has its aims to allow the network members (1) to share and learn from each other the best practices in technical education at the secondary education level among its members; (2) to promote capacity building programs for teachers, students, and stakeholders in the region; and (3) to enhance regional cooperation in technical education among the network members
The webinar was participated by 242 participants who are teachers, practitioners, and students from10 countries including Indonesia (13) , Philippines (113), Malaysia (67), Brunei Darussalam (35), Cambodia (5) , Myanmar (3) Timor Leste (1), Vietnam (1), Pakistan (3)and Burundi (1)It was a great pleasure that this webinar was opened by Dr. Ethel Agnes P Valenzuela, Director of SEAMEO Secretariat and presented by our speakers from the Philippines and Malaysia who are a school director, teachers, and students. At least two main topics were presented in the webinar: 1) Getting Started of OBS studio, NDI Integration into OBS and Live streaming with Zoom or other platforms: Video Editor and / Layout Artist presented by speakers, Mr. Brian M. Baricuatro (Teacher I) and Rolando L. Sabroso (Teacher II) from GLAN SCHOOL OF ARTS AND TRADES, Philippines and another topic is (2) Energizing TVET Community with Strategies and Opportunities in Research and Innovation presented by speakers: Dr. Sirhajwan Idek (Teacher), Nezatul Fazlyin (Student) Zainal and Ryan Derrick Sigoh (Student) from Keningau Vocational College, Malaysia. Five sub-topics were presented in the webinar gained much attraction and attention of participants (1) Getting Started of OBS, Basic Configuration such as Graphics, Audio, Scenes sources, and Filters. And Integration of OBS via Live streaming with zoom, Facebook, YouTube, and other platforms; (2) Basic Graphic Design using Adobe Photoshop CC; (3) Strategies and Opportunities in Research & Innovation; (4) Empowering STEAM into TVET;(5) Programming & Engineering.
