China-ASEAN Technical Education Cooperation Platform (CATECP)

China-ASEAN Technical Education Cooperation Platform (CATECP) is one of the programs initiated by SEAMEO TED to inform the public about the latest educational cooperative achievements in the region and to help relevant stakeholders create a blueprint for new-era vocational education together. With this vision and in response to the “New Normal” brought about by the pandemic, we launched online training programs in 2020. Its goal is to provide more instructional opportunities to underprivileged students in Southeast Asian countries and improve the overall quality of technical education in the region.

China-ASEAN Technical Education Cooperation Platform (CATECP) actively collaborates with regional education departments in various provinces of China in the establishment of vocational standards for China-ASEAN cooperation. It aims to overcome barriers in standard recognition, cater to the bilateral needs of China and Southeast Asian countries in unified technical standards, and promote the practical application of professional courses and related outcomes in schools and industries across different countries.

Currently, the collaborative reach of the China-ASEAN Technical Education Cooperation Platform (CATECP) extends to the Southeast Asian Region, covering 11 countries, as well as several provinces in Southwest and Southeast China, including Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Sichuan Province, Guizhou Province, Jiangxi Province, Jiangsu Province, Fujian Province, and others. Our collaborative network
spans over 2000 institutions in the ASEAN region and more than 300 high schools within the Southeast Asia Vocational and Technical High School Alliance.

In terms of collaboration with China, for the first year of launching, we have established partnerships with over 50 institutions, delivering over 100 courses and more than 20 standards. The training program impacts over 20,000 individuals in the globe.
