Banda Seri Begawan: Dr. Songheang Ai, Director of SEAMEO TED paid an official visit to POLITEKNIK BRUNEI located in Banda Seri Begawan City, Brunei Darussalam on April 25, 2024 in purposes of (1) enhancing closer relationship among both organizations; and (2) exploring cooperative points for mutual implementation. The visit was warmly welcomed by Dr. Lim Kian Boon, Acting Director of POLITEKNIK BRUNEI and his management team.

The delegates have a campus tour to visit the School of Health and Science and the School of Information & Communication Technology (SICT) to see the reality of the school environment and learning practices.

The POLITEKNIK BRUNEI’s management team shared the overview of polytechnic consisting of School of Business, School of Information & Communication Technology, School of Science & Engineering, School of Health Science, and School of Petrochemical. The school has strong cooperation with industries for student internship and apprenticeship programs.
In response, Dr. Songheang Ai shared the best practices and achievements that SEAMEO TED has done in 2022-2023, and recent events in early 2024. He also addressed about the activities of Southeast Asian Technical and Vocational High School/College Network consisting of 81 technical and vocational high schools/colleges as the members from the 11 SEAMEO member countries. Among them, two schools are from Brunei Darussalam.

Finally, both sides hope to come out with some activities such as research studies on employer satisfaction with students’ employability skills, webinars, conferences. SEAMEO TED will seek further cooperation from some advanced countries and organizations to organize any relevant events by engaging students and teachers of Polytechnic Brunei as part of best practice sharing and learning.
