Teaching Methodology and Curriculum Development for Teachers

Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Centre for Technical Education Development (SEAMEO TED) organized a training course on “Teaching Methodology and Curriculum Development” which was participated by 40 teachers from Bavet General and Technical High School, Svay Rieng Province, Cambodia. The course purposed to equip teachers with techniques in developing curriculum and textbooks and teaching methodologies adapting to the technical innovation of each trade.

Three trainers captured different perspectives of contents and topics consisting of (1) process of curriculum development; (2) teaching techniques and application of teaching technologies; (2) test development and evaluation; (3) the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and their applications; (4) instructional system design; and (5) application and development of digital technology in technical education.

As part of lecturing methods, trainers enabled participants to practice what they have learnt by engaging them in the group work discussion and presentation. The course evaluation was also undertaken to measure the level of their learning and satisfaction with the course.
